Come join us and make this a special event!
List of Speakers and Topics:
Elliott Dowling Regional Director USGA Greens Section East Region
Mr. Dowling will be covering the challenges presented to turfgrass managers this year under persistent wet and humid conditions. He will share what cultural, biological, and cultural controls were effective and which were not effective in combatting these adverse conditions across the East Region and what can be done in the future to prepare for wet conditions.
Dr. Guenwha Jung UMass Amherst
Dr. Jung will be covering how fungicide resistance management strategies that integrate cultural practices and optimum fungicide use patterns are critical for superintendents to minimize use of at-risk fungicides without sacrificing disease control.
David Rousseau Director NH Division of Pesticide Control
Mr. Rousseau’s topic will include a review of record keeping for restricted use pesticides as well as water related topics, such as setbacks and special permits.
Site Optimization: Thinking Beyond Traditional Turf
Jason Lanier UMass Extension
Mr. Lanier will explore the idea that even though turf is the ideal ground cover for a wide range of scenarios we shouldn’t limit ourselves to always thinking inside that box. The topic will include the possibilities to enhance and extract additional value by integrating pollinator support or naturalized areas to save time, money, and natural resources.
